I just realized I haven't updated everyone on how Jordan's bowling trip to the state finals in San Francisco went. Well - according to him - horrible - according to me - not so bad. I know most of you don't know anything about bowling oil patterns, but the way the lanes were oiled was called a sport shot and it is named Broadway. It was very difficult. Almost all the bowlers that are used to bowling in the 200's, bowled in the low 100's to 120's. It was a very disappointing day for many kids.
Despite that day, which was Sunday, we arrived in San Francisco on Friday, to a very rainy, pretty miserable day, but we had a blast. The only thing Jordan really wanted to do was go to Alcatraz and eat clam chowder out of a bread bowl, which he did twice, went to Ghiradelli's and pigged out on chocolate. We had so much fun schlossing around in the rain. We were truly soaked, but ecstatic. We then went to Lincoln's nephew, Leslie, who is Jordan's cousin, he lives about an hour away and stayed there Friday night. He has three kids, 16, 9 and 7 and Jordan played so hard and had so much fun he didn't want to leave on Saturday. Leslie, is also a huge bowler and took Jordan bowling on Saturday and they got in some very nice male bonding time. Leslie grew up being taken care of by Lincoln and he can tell Jordan a lot of good stories about his dad. I told Jordan that in the summer, I will send him back up there to spend a couple of weeks, and he is counting down the days.
